A bell glass is mounted on a straight stem which rests on a spring in a socket screwed into a cross-bar. This fits in notches in a ring forming part of the frame of the lamp, and the spring holds the open end of the bell glass against a packing- ring on the frame. An outer globe is supported by a nut on a screw depending from the socket.
