19,725. Reich, G., and Fehse, C. Aug. 26. Gear cases.-Relates to celluloid gear cases for cycles and the like. Figs. 1 and 2 show the application to a bicycle. The case consists of an inner plate made in three parts a, b, c, secured together by screws i and an outer plate d. The centre part b of the inner plate, Fig. 2, is secured to the frame stay f by clamps passing through a slot e, and the parts a and c are provided with slots, so that they may be pushed over the corresponding axles. The outer plate d, which is stamped out so as to enclose the chain, fits into or over the other plate, and is secured to it by the screws i, or a flange connection may be employed. The case is formed so that at its rear end it embraces the fork member k, to which it is secured by a clamping- ring l. A slot m is provided to allow of chain adjustment.
