Abstract
16,615. Beckman, J. E., and Berrick, J. F. July 13. Feedwater, heating.-Relates to apparatus for cooling waste water or condensing steam from boilers, engines, pumps, and steam plant generally, and utilizing the heat obtained thereby for heating boiler feedwater. The tank A receives the hot water, steam, &c. Steam, vapour, &c. descends by pipes c to the condenser C. The heated waste water escapes by the pipe E to the coil F within a tank through which the boiler feed is passing. Finally, the waste water thus cooled passes to the drains. The heated feed ascends through the pipe shown to the lower chamber of the condenser C, and, passing through the tubes of the latter, is further heated.
