Abstract
12,626. Stephenson, T. H. May 21. Bedsteads.- The pillars are of metal tube G partly filled with wood 0. The end and side bars L are of wood, and are connected to the pillars by hooked plates A fixed to the rails and engaging slots N in the pillars,Figs. 1 and 5, or by plates X, Fig. 8, secured to the sides and ends and riveted to the pillars, or by bolts S and nuts as shown in Fig. 19. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 5, B is a strengthening- tube. In that shown in Figs. 8 and 9, pegs W may project into the pillars to strengthen the joint. The rails K of the end frames fit in the top rail D and into ferrules M on the end bars L. The rail D projects into the pillar and engages a wedge-shaped prong on a sleeve C which is pulled upwards to take up wear by a screw E on the terminal F.
