Abstract
189,595. Deakin, E. G. Oct. 10, 1921. Saddle clips. - In a clip for securing the frame wires 1, Fig. 2, of a saddle to the saddle-pillar tube or rod 5, of the type comprising upper and lower gripping- plates 6, 10, Figs. 2 and 3, and an eye-bolt 2, the gripping plates 6, 10 are stamped from sheet-metal and suitably grooved, recessed and perforated. The upper plate 6 has bent edges punched or recessed at 9 to accommodate the wires 1, and the metal around its central aperture 7 is bent outwards to form an annular projection 8 against which the clamping-nut 3 abuts. The lower plate 10 is of channel section with walls of curved configuration cut out at 11 to accommodate the pillar rod 5, the face of the plate being slotted at 13 for the passage of the bolt 2, and grooved at 12 to receive the wires 1.
