Abstract

189,370. Zaparka, E. Jan. 4, 1922. Laminar springs.-The ends of a vehicle suspension spring 1 are constructed to form straps embracing eccentrics 4 rotatably mounted both within the straps and on the supporting bolts 3 for the spring. The invention is described as applied to a transverse spring connected at its ends to a steering axle of a motor-vehicle to prevent jolts on the wheels from affecting the steering. Bushes 5 of material resistant to pressure, such as reinforced asbestos, are inserted between the relatively moving parts, the bushes being impregnated with lubricant. The eccentrics may be fixed to the bolts 3, which in this case are mounted in bushed bearings on the axle.
