The fence plate e is mounted on a slide c which can be clamped at the required distance from the saw by a set-screw d. After the first saw cut has been made, it is pushed on to the plate e, whereby a second cut is made at a fixed distance from the first, and parallel to it. The fence or gauge may be mounted on a movable bench which travels with the material, over the fixed bench.
