Abstract

Filtering.-The conical filter casing 2 of a vacuum cleaner is secured to the fan casing by clamps 13, Fig. 1, comprising resilient side pieces which are forced over the screws 5 and carry rollers 16 forced against the ends of the screws. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), Fig. 5 (Cancelled), shows a filter comprising a perforated disc 17 having on its outer rim a rubber ring 19 forming a point with the casing, and a tube 18 carrying a star- or ring- shaped support for the lower end of the filter 12, the upper end being carried by the disc 17. The filter shown in Fig. 7 (Cancelled) comprises an annular bag 12 suspended at its upper edges from a perforated cone. A collapsable rubber &c. tube 25, Fig. 2, allows inlet of air, and prevents escape of dust when the cleaner is not working. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
