Abstract

188,162. Mullins, F. Oct. 7, 1921. Sliding bolts.-The knob 7 of a spring-pressed Bolt 1, sliding in a casing 11 in the inner sash 2 and adapted to engage in one of a number of tapered holes 9 in the outer sash 8, is provided with a tapered projection 3 which, as the bolt 1 is shot into one of the holes 9, engages one of a number of tapered notches 6 in the member 5 fixed to the window frame 4 so that one or both sashes may be secured in a predetermined open position. During movement of the sashes the bolt 1 is held withdrawn by giving it a turn so as as to cause pins 13 on the stem 12 thereof to lie across a groove 14 in the casing 11.
