Abstract

187,937. French, A. W., (Assignee of Smith, C. R.). Oct. 26, 1921. Fats and fatty oils, extracting by pressure. A cage for an oil or like press comprises an imperforate shell provided with drainage wall sections over part of its area, only. In constructions illustrated the solid shell 10 is removably fitted with one or two perforated lining plates 11 braced by stays 13. Preferably the interior of the cage tapers outwardly from bottom to top to facilitate removal of the pressed cakes, and a coir fibre or other mat is placed between each lining plate and the material pressed to prevent clogging of the drainage openings. Reference has been directed by the Comptrollerto Specification 185,532.
