Abstract

186,285. Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Railway & Industrial Engineering Co.). March 21, 1922. Clips, band.-A flexible girdle engages the adjacent flanges of disc-like sections to hold the sections together. The girdle, Fig. 2, comprises a plurality of individual clamping elements 10, a band 11 bearing upon the outer surface of the clamping-elements, and lugs 15 at the end of the band through which extends a bolt 16 for tightening the band. Each clamping element has a circular wall 12, Fig. 1, and top and bottom walls 13 which are inclined to fit over the walls 9 of the rims of the insulator-sections 1. In modifications the clamping units are integral with the band, or the units are provided with lugs connected by chain-links.
