Abstract
185,983. Andrews, W. E. Oct. 26, 1921. Auxiliary gear; eccentric - actuated pumps; single-acting suction-valveless pumps; mountings; strainers; suction reservoirs; valves, arrangement of ; valves, facilitating removal of.-A lubricating- pump comprises a barrel j screwed into a hole in the base of the reservoir a, the threaded portion projecting below the base to receive the delivery pipe. A nut-shaped Bange v on the barrel, provided with several suction ducts P rests on the bottom of the reservoir. A strainer surrounds the suction ports and is held in position by the plunger spring k. The plunger is actuated by an eccentric o operated by pawl and ratchet gear m, q. The eccentric may be operated also by a hand-crank on the eccentric shaft. Several pumps may be arranged in the reservoir. The delivery valve e is held to its seat by a spring g resting on a screw d.
