Abstract

184,826. Glynn, E. E. March 18, 1921. Filling tubes.-Apparatus for delivering definite volumes of liquids into test-tubes &c. comprises a battery of cylinders 1 provided with nozzles 2 and plungers 4 connected by universal joints 5 to means for' depressing the plungers through definite distances. In one form, the plungers are connected to a bar 10 adapted to be moved by nuts and screws 11 operated by worms 12 on a shaft 13 of a crank 15. A spring pin 16 carried by the crank engages successively a series of equidistant holes in a fixed disc 17. The syringes deliver into test-tubes carried by a stand provided with rollers 7 engaging guide rails 6, so that the several rows of tubes may be filled by sliding the stand under the nozzles 2. The cylinders may be filled from a trough having a. longitudinal groove into which the nozzles dip; the trough 'being held in place by a spring-pin 28.
