Abstract

183,561. Kerka, F. April 22, 1921. Hair - curling appliances. - A hair-curler of the kind in which the hair is wound upon a support and subjected to moist heat is provided with a hairholding member which fits with a fairly tight sliding fit upon the cylindrical support, the hair - holding means being capable of rotation thereon in one direction only. The holding - member may consist of a wire a, Fig. 2, bent into a zigzag secured to a, boss b mounted to slide freely on the support c on which the hair is wound, a coil of wire d being secured to the boss so as to allow rotation of the member in one direction only. Fig. 3 shows a, form in which the coil d is completely enclosed by the boss to which it is attached. In use, the hair is attached to the member c by means of a hair-pin e, Fig. 1, and the hair guided through the coils a while the member c is rotated.
