Rotary cylinder apparatus; reel and endlessweb apparatus.-A variously coloured transparent sleeve L is rotated by an electric motor consisting of a disc D located between the poles of one or more magnets E having a single winding and an electromagnetic screen placed between the pole of the winding and the disc D, or two windings traversed by alternating currents out of phase. The sleeve L is carried by a platform G which, together with the disc D, is mounted on a shaft F which passes through a partition B in a casing A. The sleeve L contains two lamps N<1>, N<2>, one of which lies in the circuit of the magnet E and the resistance of which can be changed to alter the resistance of the circuit and the speed of the disc D. The rotational speed of the disc D may be modified also by adjusting beaiing plates C', C<2> of the shaft F or a plate C' carrying the magnet E. A reflector M is arranged behind the lamps and throws the changing multi-coloured. light on to a trans. parent announcement. A pulley f<1> is mounted on the shaft F and may be used to operate a second sleeve. A transparent band bearing advertising matter may be moved by the sleeves. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), comprises also a condenser which focuses the light on a predetermined point after passage through the sleeve L. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
