Revolution-direction indicators.-A change-over or switch mechanism applicable to revolutiondirection indicators and to revolution-counters for shafts, pulleys, &c. comprises a sector-shaped member 8 slidably mounted on a block 7 fast on a spindle 6, the member 8 engaging a revolving shaft 12 under the action of a spring 11 so as to swing to one side or the other according to the direction of revolution of the shaft. The ends of the sector are sloped off as at 14, 15. The apparatus may be used for connecting in one or the other of two electrically-actuated revolutions counters, as described in Specification 12437/13, or to operate valves controlling hydraulically or pneumatically actuated counters, or it may be employed with train-lighting dynamos driven from the axles. A switch-box 1 with lead glands 4, 5 may be mounted on supports 2, near the shaft 12. Inward movement of the sector is limited by a split pin 9. Instead of the sector being movable, the spindle and its mounting may be movable under spring action.
