Abstract
180,665. Metropolitan - Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Crichton, L. N., and Golladay, L. R.). May 24, 1921, [Convention date]. Electric protective systems. - In protective systems for alternating- current circuits in which energy to operate a tripping-coil 4 is derived from the circuit 2 to be protected through a current transformer 7, the energized circuit 5 is made resonant and its connection with the coil 4 is not continuous. On abnormal conditions arising in the main circuit, a relay 10 in the circuit 5 becomes effective to close contacts 13, 14 and so put the coil 4 into circuit across a reactance such as the condenser 12.
