Abstract

Lead oxide for use in explosive compositions is obtained in mixed or double or multiple crystals with other substances such as basic lead azide, heavy metal hydroxides, carbonates, basic chlorides and sulphates, and neutral and basic salts of nitrocompounds, for example mono-di- and trinitrophenols, di- and tri-nitroresorcin, trinitrocresol, hexanitrodiresorcin, trinitroploroglucinol, trinitroaminophenol, metadinitroorthodinitrosobenzene, and hexanitrodiphenylamine. The double or multiple crystals may be obtained by simultaneous or successive precipitation.
