Abstract

Manganese chromate or oleate or other fatty acid salt is incorporated with lubricants to clean and prevent corrosion of the metal surfaces. Preferably the salt or mixture of salts is such as not to alter the colour of the oil, and is free from chlorides, nitrates, sulphates, or other harmful matter.
