Abstract

180,344. Jepson, W. Feb. 26, 1921. Washing-machines with closed or enclosed rotary receptacles having longitudinal perforated ribs forming combined internal beaters and external troughs, are given a precise form and arrangement of beaters and troughs. According to the invention a receptacle is provided with three pairs of opposed beater plates b<1>, b<2>, b<3>, each pair subtending an angle approximately 70‹ at the centre, the sides c of the troughs are from one quarter to one sixth of the radius, and the angle between the adjacent sides c, d, of a trough is approximately 75‹. In the case of the angular dimensions the invention includes variations of 10 per cent above and below the angles stated.
