Abstract

179,142. Billard, P. April 25, 1921, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Inhalers.-A device for permitting the inhalation of gas having in suspension a powder, preferably a calcareous salt, comprises a cylindrical body 1, formed with one or more air-ingress openings 7, and provided with a cover 4 fitted with an electric lamp or other heating-means 8. In front of the body and separated from it by a partition 3 is a chamber 2 in which is mounted a revolving brush 10 adapted to be actuated by hand or otherwise. Above the chamber 2 the cover is fitted with an inhaling mouthpiece 6, and a junction-piece 9 enabling the device to be connected to a reservoir of antiseptic gas is also fitted. In operation, air passing in through the openings 7 is heated by the lamp and passes on to the mouthpiece 6, being joined in its passage by gas from the reservoir. Powder previously placed on or fed on to the brush is thrown off upwardly by the release of the bristles of the brush 10, and is carried out by the issuing gas.
