The peat is mixed and formed into hollow cylindrical blocks in a casing containing a screw conveyer, orifice pin d, and having a rotary cutter l at its outlet, the blocks falling into a rotary ball-making cylinder m. The blocks lie between the surfaces of a screw conveyer n in the cylinder, and by the rotation of both the cylinder and screw, are formed into hollow balls and discharged at the orifice q.
