Abstract
178,203. Brown, T. A., and Walker, C. Jan. 12, 1921. Bricks and building-blocks, special shapes of.- Concrete tubbing blocks b for lining shafts &c. have iron plugs v moulded in their upper sides, the plugs having projecting threaded studs w, while iron boxes x are moulded in the lower sides of the blocks and have apertures y to receive the studs of the lower Mocks. Hand holes z in the blocks give access to lateral bolt holes which may be lined. Vertical holes 2 in the blocks receive rods or tubes which are engaged with hand holes z of an upper ring of blocks to position a lower ring. Transverse tubes 3 with threaded ends are embedded in the blocks and are employed for injecting cement behind the tubbing &c.
