Abstract
177,819. Keene, E. W. W. Oct. 4, 1920. Closure members, rotary cylindrical. - Suction pipes leading from separate sectors of rotating disc-shaped filter elements mounted on a shaft c<1> are ccnnected to axial passages u<1>, v<1> of a valve plug. The valve forms the subject-matter of Specification 179,494. The plug rotates in a fixed housing which has an outlet r<1> for filtrate, an outlet q<1> for wash water, an inlet s<1> for air or steam under pressure and an exhaust outlet t' for the compressed fluid. In the course of rotation each disc sector is placed in communication with these ports successively, the periods of communication being regulated by slides 2, 3 operated by links which pass through the end cover 6.
