Abstract

Breath-testing appliances.-In an appliance for testing the odour of the breath, a chamber 1 encloses the nose, the edges making a tight joint with the face, a cotton wool pad on a carrier 5 being provided for the bridge of the nose. From the base of the chamber immediately below the nose runs a connecting-channel 2, terminating in a mouthpiece 3. This channel may be open or closed, and in modifications valves may be employed as shown in Figs. 4 and 6. The article is preferably made of a ceramic material, but an alternative construction of metal, opening for cleaning purposes is shown in Fig. 6.
