Washing - machines with rocking receptacles and with axially - reciprocating plungers.-A rotarily oscillating cylindrical clothesroceptaole b contains reciprocating suction plungers d<1> operated through supporting rack-bars e and pinions f connected by linkage f<2>, f<3> with the axle of the receptacle. The plungers are mounted on a board d<3> secured to the rack-bars e through pivotal joints h. The board is held in the working position at right-angles for readier removal from the receptacle, by means of spring-controlled pins co-operating with notches in the rotary pivot members. The plunger-operating gear includes a clutch g which can be thrown out to allow the plungers to be raised by hand for removal or for vertical adjustment.
