Abstract

Folding bedsteads; hammocks.-Two X-frames 10, 20 are pivoted together to form lazy-tongs, and the upwardly and outwardly directed units 11, 12 and 21, 22 carry transverse bars 13, 23 which support a hammock-sheet 40 or a bedframe acting as a tie to prevent collapse of the framework. One or both pairs of the sheetsupporting members are made sufficiently long to hold the sheet clear of the framework. A U- shaped pivoted strut 31 - - 33 may be provided and may be secured in the vertical position by twin-buttons 41, 42 mounted on a bar 14 and engaging a bar 46. Fig. 4 shows the invention applied to a bedstead, pivoted bars 61, 62 hooking over transverse members 64, 65, and a spring mattress 60 taking the place of the hammock sheet.
