Cylinder machines.-Comprises, in the press described in the parent Specification, the provision of a travelling band 33 lapping an arc of the press cylinder 3 and passing through the bight between the cylinder and the counterpressure roll 6 to close the ends of the moulds 9 and prevent escape of material. As shown, the band passes around the roll 6 and around a roll 32 forming a revoluble abutment for the preliminary compression stage. The band 33 is tensioned by a screw 35 working through a nut 34 and operating arms 30 carrying the roll 32.
