Abstract

174,907. National Paper Can Co., (Assignees of Brooks, L. C.). Jan. 31, 1921, [Convention date]. Capsule closures.- The snap disc cover of a fibrous container is provided with a strip or cord of flexible fibrous material, which is jointed on the underside of the disc and extends around its edge. The strip forms a handle for removing the cover or for carrying the container. The strip 3 can, when the disc is inserted in the closure, indent both disc and seating, and being flexible, it can be stored below the top of the container, when packing the containers for transit. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the strip may be metallic, and describes also a modification shown in Fig. 4, (Cancelled), in which the strip is replaced by a handle-shaped member 6. This subject-mat. ter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
