Abstract

174,371. Beuckmann, F. Jan 22, 1921, [Convention date]. Scrapers, pan and like, comprise a yieldable blade 10, of rubber or other suitable material, and a handle 20 having a reduced portion 18 which is embedded in the blade 10. The blade decreases in thickness towards the longitudinal scraping edges 11, 12, the edge 12 being curved round to form a front scraping edge 13, a curved edge 15 and a point 16 for scraping the corners of utensils. The shank portion 18 may be provided with spaced openings to receive the rubber or the shank may be secured by an adhesive substance. The blade has smooth surfaces and the device may be used for removing crumbs, from a table. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), states that the blade may be of flexible metal or rubber or leather reinforced with wires. The blade 10 may be provided with nipples which are sprung into the spaced openings, or the blade may be hammered to force the material into the openings, The embedded portion may be pronged or similarly secured, and the space between the prongs may, in places, be enlarged to increase the binding action. The blade 10 may be pinned to the handle. Thfs subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
