Tentering.-Tentering-clips are detachably connected to ropes, the usual hinged points being dispensed with. As shown in Fig. 2, the clip is secured to a metal rope 3 by upper and lower spaced clamps 4, 4<a>. In this form, the teeth 5<a> of the driving-wheel are forked as shown. In a modification, the clip is secured to two ropes 7, 7<a>, Fig. 6, by clamps 8, 9, 10, a driving-wheel having single teeth 5<b> being employed. The clamps are shaped to the curvature of the driving-wheel. According to the Provisional Specification, cross-pieces secured to the rope are adapted to engage with the clips and with thedriving-wheels.
