Abstract
171,018. McElvain, J. W. Sept. 25, 1920. Air-tubes.-A liner 3, Fig. 2, of rubber or like material for use between an air-tube and a tyre, cover is formed upon a core 4, and turned inside out so that a transverse compressive stress is created in it. The liner is cemented so that the warmth created in use causes it to adhere to the air-tube, and is formed or a slightly larger diameter than the cover so that inflation of the air-tube sets up a circumferential compressive stress.
