Abstract

170,735. Burns, P. C. Sept. 7, 1920. Desk and table sets.-An easily-assembled telephone desk set comprises a hollow base 5, Fig. 1, from which extends a tubular member 6 fitting over a boss 7. The upper end of the tubular member 6 bears under the shoulders 8 of the head 9 carrying the transmitter 10, the head 9 being supported by a bar 11, an extension 12 of which rests on the boss 7. A bracket 14 on the base 5 carries an induction coil 13 and a terminal block 16. A single bolt 18 on which is threaded a distance-piece 20 passes through the bracket 14, boss 7, and extension 12, and a base-plate 17 is secured thereto by a screw 21. A post 22 secured to the base by a screw 23 co-operates with a screw 24 to hold the terminal block 16 and the bracket 14 in position. A resilient ring 25 extending beyond the outer edge of the base 5 is secured as shown by the base-plate 17. In an alternative form, Fig. 3, the ring 25 is secured as shown by the metal shell 29.
