Seals.-An ear-mark for cattle, of the kind comprising a solid marking-head having a pointed stem which is inserted into a hollow body containing washers, one of which is provided with teeth to engage the stem, comprises one or twotoothed washers located between two outer washers having plain holes and serving to protect the parts against tampering, one washer preventing separation of the parts by tensile stress, and the other washer preventing access to the teeth should the hollow body be cut open. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, the head B and the hollow body A are shaped to fit tightly on the ear Q. The head has an integral stem B<1> and is made of soft metal, such as aluminium. The hollow body comprises two hemispheres united by flanges A<4>, A<5>, which also retain loosely three washers M, N, 0, the two outer washers having a plain hole, and the intermediate washer being made of hard metal, such as steel, and cut to form radial teeth; the washers have sufficient play to turn within the inner flange A<5> should the parts A, B be rotated in relation to each other in an attempt to separate them. In the construction shown in Fig 9, the head B and the hollow body A are shaped to leave air spaces on both sides of the ear Q, and the outer part of the body is conical. The stem B' is made of hard metal, such as steel, and is grooved transversely for engagement by two intermediate toothed washers N, R, located between plainholed washers M, O with their teeth in staggered relation.
