Abstract
168,917. Goux, V. Sept. 10, 1920, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Multiple-furrow ploughs; lifting-devices, power; adjusting parts of.-In a multiple-furrow oneway plough, means are provided for raising or lowering the ploughs in succession at the ends of the furrows and for adjusting the rear wheels and the hitching point laterally. The frame consists of crossbars 1, 2, 3 and longitudinal tubes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. It is mounted on two front wheels 9 and two rear wheels 12 which are adjustable vertically by means of screws 90, 14. Two sets of plough bodies 18, 18a are pivotally mounted on the longitudinal tubes. The ploughs of each set are raised or lowered in succession by means of cams engaging pivoted levers 37, 38, 39 linked to levers 31, 32, 33 on shafts 28, 29, 30 which are universally jointed to shafts 24 having lever arms 23 linked to arms 21 projecting from the plough bodies. The two sets of cams are on sleeves on the axle 10 and are driven by the engagement of spur-wheels with projections on the wheels 9. The spur-wheels are normally held out of engagement by springs and are thrown into action by means of clutch forks. The rear wheels 12 are carried by a frame-bar 16 pivoted at 17 and jointed to the draw-bar 54 which is pivoted at 56. By this means the furrow-wheels 12 are automatically adjusted laterally into position behind the last plough when the draw-bar is swung over by the hauling power to bring the hitching point 55 into the line of traction for the set of ploughs lowered into work. The draw - bar is held in position by pivoted catches 58, 59 which may be lifted automatically when the first plough is raised, by engagement of the lever arms 21 with bent rods 61, 62 in contact with fingers 65 on the catches. The shafts 24, 28, 29, 30 may be housed in the tubes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and the universal joints dispensed with.
