Abstract

168,513. Davis, R. H. Aug. 11, 1920. Re-vaporizing liquefied gases. -A vaporizer for delivering oxygen, nitrogen, &c. in gaseous form from containers in which the liquefied gas is stored comprises a boiler formed with tubular air passages by which the heating-surface is increased. Fig. 1 shows a vacuum-jacketed container A, the neck of which is surrounded by an annular .boiler D. A siphon tube C passes up the neck and continuing as a spiral enters the top of the boiler; an outlet tube E passes out from the other side through a plate J surmounting an openwork cage K which surrounds the neck. The outlet tube E is provided with a throttle valve ; a safety-valve is also provided on a tube F leading from the neck. Tubes D<1> pass through the boiler, which is provided with internal vertical baffles to prevent the liquid from passing through the boiler without being vaporized.
