Abstract
168,442. Carey, R. F. June 12, 1920. Safety valves. - Relates to hydraulic transmission gear in which both sides of the system are connected by a passage provided with a single relief valve so arranged that excess pressure on either side can operate the valve and pass to the other side. A spring or weight-controlled valve having a coned or mitred head fitting a, seating in the passage way is employed. In the form shown, the cross-sectional area of the stem D of the coned valve is double that of the seating B.
