Abstract
166,381. Morley, E. G. April 30, 1920. Radiators, motor-car and like. - Detachable cooling sections or elements are located one behind the other within the radiator frame, each section comprising upper and lower water boxes or chambers h, j connected by upright tubes k. The chambers h, j are in the form of rectangular tubes with closed ends, having apertures m, q registering with apertures in the inside faces of the main headers a, b. Packing-rings n are arranged between the chambers h, j and the header faces around the apertures, a tight-joint being secured when the rings are compressed by screwing-up the vertical bolts connecting the main headers to the frame. The side frame members are formed of channel-section parts c, and the chambers h, j are seated at the ends inside channel blocks d grooved to accommodate the frame bolts. The chambers and headers may communicate through a long slot. The tubes k are preferably arranged in staggered formation from front to rear.
