Abstract

166,206. Watt, W. H. Feb. 18, 1919. Anchoring.-In a mooring arrangement of the kind in which the mast is surrounded by a circular rail or circular rails along which run carriages connected by hawsers to the airship, a swivelling connection 7 is provided between each carriage 5, running on the rail 4 by means of rollers 6, and its shackle 8 connected by a bridle to the keel of the airship. The bridles can be set up to maintain the airship at any desired angle of trim. Indicators, application of.-Spring balances may be provided between the carriages 5 and the bridles connected to the airship to show the tensions in the bridles, and the balance may be connected up to recording devices in a hut adjacent to the mooring mast.
