Web and sheet feeding arrangements; linespacing mechanism.-In web-manifolding arrangements comprising means for straightening the loops lying on the platen-roller, a record-sheet receiving line spacing movement with the webs is automatically fed to separate the sets of entries when the webs are straightened. The invention is shown as applied to the arrangement described in Specification 23349/14 and comprising a platenroller 16 mounted in a frame 19 which is pivoted on a rod 20 on the carriage 12 and can be raised to separate the platen-roller from the feed-rollers 17, 18. According to the invention, the platenroller is provided at each end with a revoluble extension 22 which co-operates with a feed-roller 24 to feed a record-sheet of greater width than the webs when the frame 19 is raised. The feedroller 24 is carried by a lever 27, pivoted on the frame 19 and drawn upwards by a spring 26. The hook 31 for holding the frame 19 in the depressed position normally abuts on a finger 28 of the lever 27 and thereby holds the feed-roller 24 out of engagement with the extension. When the hook is pushed rearwards to release the frame 19 the spring 20 draws the feed-roller into engagement with the extension. The extension is provided with a ratchet-wheel 34 co-operating with a pawl 35 on an arm 37 which can rock on the platenshaft and is connected to a link 39 having a slot 40 engaging a pin 38 on the carriage. When the frame 19 is raised, the hook, after moving idly backwards and forwards, is detained by the pin- and the pawl abuts on the ratchet-wheel and causes the extension to rotate and feed the recordsheet. The ratchet-wheel has the same number of teeth as the line-spacing wheel and the feed of the record-sheet may be equal to two or three tooth intervals. The feed may be varied by altering the length of the slot 40 or the position of the pin 38. The spring 26 is connected to the arm 37 and is extended when the frame 19 is raised, the pressure of the feed-roller 24 being thereby increased. A detent 43 engages the ratchet-wheel 34. When the frame 19 is lowered, the spring returns the arm and pawl to the normal position, determined by a stop pin 44 on the journal 45 of the platen-shaft.
