Abstract
165,400. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. June 24, 1920, [Convention date]. Aspirating - apparatus, ejector.-Relates to a mercury-vapour pump wherein the mercury container h is heated, e.g. by a bunsen gas name i, and consists in the provision of a vertical unobstructed tube a as a conduit for the mercury vapour, the upper part of which has a cooling- water jacket g constituting it a condensing-chamber, and has the connection c to the preliminary-vacuum pump at the top. At the point where, by the normal air cooling of the walls, the mercury vapour first assumes the form of mist, there is an aperture l at right-angles communicating by a pipe b with the vessel &c. to be exhausted.
