Abstract

165,008. Holzapfel, A. C. Oct. 21, 1920. Fibrous plastic compositions.-Residues, such as palm-oil pitch and stearine pitch, which are derived from the treatment of oils and fats, are heated and mixed with a finely-divided inert substance, such as infusorial earth, and a fibrous material, preferably balsa-wood sawdust or coconut fibre. The composition is applied to a backing of canvas or the like for use as a floor covering. Typical proportions of the ingredients are 57 parts of the pitch-like residue, 8 parts of infusorial earth, 16 parts of fibres, and 19 parts of suitable colouring-material.
