Abstract

Globe and shade galleries. - In an electric lamp fitting, the globe or shade is provided with a fixed ring, adapted to engage the gallery by bayonet catch or like joints, and a multiarm spring, mounted on the central supporting sleeve 3 of the gallery is adapted to press on the ring and to engage a recess therein. In one form, a globe 5 is fixed to a metal ring on which are pins 8, which engage with slots 9 in the gallery 1. A four-tongued spring 2 is secured to the sleeve 3 by a. lock-nut 4. One arm of the spring engages a recess 7 in the ring, a stop-pin 3<a> serving to register the spring and recess. To remove the globe the spring arm is lifted clear of the recess by inserting an instrument in a small hole 10, when the bayonet catches can be released. In a. modification the spring arm carries a fixed stud projecting through the gallery and having a small notch or hole for the reception of an instrument to raise the arm.
