Indicators actuated by floats. -An indicator for registering the volume or depth of liquid in a tank comprises a graduated rod a having a handle to permit insertion in and withdrawal from the liquid, a float c slidable on the rod, a pointer f carried upon the upper part of the float, a counterweighted tumbler catch d pivoted to the float and adapted to engage rack teeth b on the rod, and an end stop h for retaining the float.
