Abstract

162,009. Amos, H. S. Oct. 24, 1919. Protectors, inserting. - Hobs are inserted simultaneously in heels or soles. A device for use for heels is shown, comprising a lower plate 1 with a heel-shaped recess in which is fixed a plate 2. Hobs are placed head downwards in the part of the recess not filled by the plate 2. The plate 1 has upstanding guides 3 and springs 4 which engage a member 5 having a central opening in which the heel is placed. The whole device is then placed in a press. The plate 2 has a peripheral groove engaging the snugs usually found on the heads of the hobs. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 14749/90, 2094/94 and 22865/95, [all in Class 17, Boots &c.].
