Abstract
161,532. Aichele, A. April 12, 1920, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Toothed wheels.-The teeth of plain or helical spur or bevel wheels are formed with the tooth surface of one or both wheels cut away in the region of the pitch circle, or with one wheel, preferably the smaller, having faces only and the other wheel flanks only, the teeth of each wheel being entirely outside or inside, respectively, of its pitch circle. The object is to retain only the tooth parts engaging with the maximum of sliding in order to prevent noise and to facilitate distribution of lubricant. The teeth are preferably made as long and thick as possible.
