Hair-curling appliances. - An electric heater for use in hairwaving comprises a protective outer insulating casing c, Figs. 1 and 2, containing asbestos and caoutchouc and formed with cooling ribs f. The resistance b, preferably of chrome-nickel gauze or resistance deposits on mica. is preferably mounted upon a metal tube a enclosed by sheaths of mica and cork. A steel band separates this insulation from the casing c, which may be moulded round a polished tube d. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) contains also the following subject-matter. Each heater is suspended by flexible leads l wound upon a spring drum device g, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), upon the front of which is mounted a switch h, and a runner m sliding frictionally on the leads may be provided to retain the heater at any desired height. A metal ring p, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), suspended from an extensible tube q fixed to the ceiling is provided with openings r for the reception of the switches and winders, which are secured by bolts through the lugs k, Fig.. 4 (Cancelled). Current'is supplied through contact pieces on the ring which register with the terminals of the switches when the latter are inserted in the openings. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
