Bulbs; caps; making lamps; repairing.-In a lamp, Fig. 1, having a cap detachable for renewal of the filament, the bulb B is cemented or otherwise fastened in a ring F, preferably of metal, threaded externally and provided with a flange G. The cap A is placed over the ring with a washer D separating the coacting surfaces; the washer may be dispensed with if the surfaces are true. A metal collar C is then screwed on until an external flange on the collar engages the flange G. A. metal ring E is sprung over the two flanges two prevent unscrewing. The parts are assembled in a vacuum. In a modification, Fig. 2, the cap A and the ring F have conical coacting surfaces and unscrewing of the collar C is prevented by small screws k.
