Abstract
160,177. Bennett, G. A., and Kirsten, F. B. A.. March 16, 1920, [Convention date]. Clamping-devices; fiexible-band files; foldengaging files; attaching files to covers.-Renewable loose-leaf books of the kind provided with a resilient leaf-holder of channel section having an open mouth, into which the leaves are passed lengthways, are used with a block of loose leaves having holes or side slots through which a spring binding-tape or wire 26 passes, the central portion of the tape lying against one face of the leaves, and the ends of the tape springing outwards and frictionally gripping the leaf-holder on the other face of the leaves. The leaf-holder is preferably flared at one end 11 and closed at the other end 8, and is attached to the cover by a length of wire. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also a leaf-holder with in-turned lips 5, Fig. 7 (Cancelled), gripping a block of folded sheets, having in the fold thereof a pin 22, Fig. 6 (Cancelled), provided with a head 23 and an offset foot 25 for extracting the butt end of the block after the sheets have been torn off. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
