Abstract

160,160. Maceska, J. March 12, 1920, [Convention date]. Guarding against unauthorized use. - The clutch and change-speed lever 8, reverse-gear lever 11, and brake lever 9 of a motor road vehicle may be locked in a forwardly swung position to prevent unauthorized use, by a member 7, having end forks 6, adapted to embrace the levers 8, 9, and an intermediate transverse fork 10 embracing the lever 11. The member is locked in position by a shackle of a padlock passed through the prongs of the centre fork and a lug 15 on a metal plate 14 secured to the footboard. A certain amount of play is allowed between the member and the levers to permit the member to be tilted in removing it from, or replacing it on, the levers.
